Announcement on the Revision of China Patent Certificates (No. 581)

In accordance with the provisions of Articles 39 and 40 of the Patent Law of the People’s Republic of China, CNIPA decided to amend the patent certificate. The relevant matters are now announced as follows:

For patents with an authorization announcement date after June 1, 2024 (including that day), CNIPA will issue a new version of the patent certificate. The new version of the patent certificate follows the A4 vertical format and optimizes and adjusts the layout of the recorded matters.

The old version and the new version of the patent certificate have the same legal effect. CNIPA does not provide the service of replacing the old version of the patent certificate that has been issued with the new version. For those who request to replace or correct the patent certificate in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 9, Section 1.2 of Part 5 of the Patent Examination Guidelines, CNIPA will issue a new version of the patent certificate after June 1, 2024 (inclusive).
